The Wellsboro Girls Tennis team swept a doubleheader on Senior Night against Cowanesque Valley, winning both matches 5-0, and claimed the NTL Championship in the process at Packer Park Thursday afternoon.
"At the start of the season, I had the team write down what goals they had for the year and winning the NTL was the main priority," said first-year head coach Spencer Kreisler. "To be able to help them achieve their goal and go undefeated in the NTL is something I'm extremely proud of them for doing. It also feels rewarding to see this group finally win the championship after knowing how much extra time they put in during the summer and over the weekends. I feel truly lucky to get to see the seniors accomplish this knowing how good of leaders they've been for the team and how much they help me at practice. I couldn't ask for a better team, this will be one I'll remember for a long time."
